How we find our host families

We help every au pair to find a welcoming family for a positive experience in the USA.

Screening process

Host family screening process

All host families must meet strict US Department of State regulations. When a family applies to join our program, we take the time to get to know them. Here’s how the process works:

1. Careful review of every application

We read the family’s application in detail, including their childcare references and reasons for wanting to join the program.

2. In-person interview at their home

A Community Counsellor from our local team visits the family at home. This is an important step to make sure they are ready to provide a comfortable environment for their au pair.

3. Final approval to join the program

If the family meets our standards and satisfies the Community Counsellor during the home visit and interview, we approve their application and invite them to begin setting up their profile.

A careful process for the right match

Our screening process is comprehensive. It follows all federal guidelines and adds extra steps to protect both au pairs and host families.

The result is simple: families who are ready to share their home, offer a warm welcome and provide a positive cultural exchange experience for our au pairs.
