Hello guys,
How are you? Seven months have passed since I got here, can anyone stop the time? The months are flying past and with the intention I set out when I first got to the U.S, I have been experiencing as many new things as I can. This blog will be about my first trip out of the United States after becoming an au pair.
DESTINATION… CANADA!
As you may know, au pairs may leave and return to the United States during their au pair on their J1 visa. Each country may require something different for tourists, so it is your responsibility to research and make sure you meet all the requirements. My destination was Canada, which I needed a Canadian tourist visa for. I spent five days in Toronto, and at this time I had company of my friend Carina. Toronto is the largest city in Canada and it is one of the most multicultural cities in the world.
NIAGARA FALLS
We spent our first few days in Niagara Falls, a small town about 1 hour and 50 min from Toronto where the main attractions are the Falls. There are three waterfalls; the straight is the American falls and the one that looks like a horseshoe, is the Canadian one. And yes, one of the borders between Canada and the United States is located in that area. The view is incredible! The Clifton Hill is a street full of shops, attractions and restaurant. I fell in love with the attractions, especially: Niagara SkyWheel, Movieland Wax Museum Niagara Falls, Upside Down House and Zombie Attack. I totally recommend these to anyone who is visiting this area.

Exploring Toronto 
When we arrived at the Entertainment District, I thought I was in the center of NYC. High buildings, screens, lights and lots of movement. We stayed in a super well located hostel. I was able to visit Chinatown, the prestigious Eaton Center shopping mall, Graffiti Allwey, Nathan Phillips Square where the sign is placed for Pan American games and other incredible places. And a tip for those in love with the Dollar Tree Americana – a little shop where everything costs U$1.00 – in Canada they have a similar store called Dollarama, the things there is around CAD$1 to CAD$5.
Do not let travel opportunities pass you by, just go and enjoy every moment. Travelling transforms you into a better human being, it opens your eyes to the beautiful places and people in our world.
